Below are a few of the most common questions we get here at THINQTANQ. If you can’t see your question listed or you just want to ask us something, why not contact us and we will do our best to answer.
Are there any long term contracts?
No. As long as you cancel your membership before your next renewal date that’s it. No long term commitments, no hidden charges. If you use THINQTANQ for a business address we ask that you change your registered address with companies house within a month of your last day or take out a virtual office membership.
How many businesses can I register at THINQTANQ?
If you have a full time membership, you can register as many businesses as you wish at THINQTANQ. Keep in mind though that if you cancel your membership you will need to change your registered business address with Companies House or take out a Virtual Office Membership for each one.
If you need a business address for your business, you can get one of our Virtual Office Memberships. You will need one for each business you want to register.
I have a virtual office with you, how long does it take to get my post?
We do a post run twice per week, usually on a Wednesday and a Saturday. We send out our post with first class or first class large stamps so we try to get your post to you as soon as possible. Obviously if you are expecting something important let us know and we can keep an eye out for it.
The time it takes for you to get your post does vary as a result of things like – When we get your post, Christmas and holiday postage times, postal strikes etc. but we do our best to minimise the time it takes to get your post to you. We know it can be super important!
Do I get my own fob so I can come and go as I wish?
Yes. If you are a full time or part time desk members or a regular user, you can pay a deposit and get a fob for access to the building. If you are just popping in for a day or are an infrequent user, we have some communal fobs on site that you can use for access when you are here.
I need to take a break on my membership, can I leave my stuff on my desk?
Afraid not, sorry. You can keep your desk and pay for the time you are away, or you can grab your stuff and simply bring it back in when you restart your membership. We can’t guarantee that your same desk will be available but if it is, you are welcome to take it back! Unfortunately we can’t just let you leave things on desks without an active membership.
If you do leave items here without an active membership and you haven’t arranged it with us, it isn’t a problem but how we deal with it depends on how much stuff you have left. If you have a couple of small things that we can easily move and pop in a cupboard for safe keeping then that is what we will do. Pick them up as soon as you can. If however you leave a monitor, computer, files and a whole bunch of stuff that prevents us using the desk for another paying customer or you leave other bulky items, then we will invoice you for the time you have occupied the desk at the current rate or £50 per month where items are stored elsewhere.
Any items left at THINQTANQ without prior arrangement will be disposed of after 14 days. We simply do not have the space to store items for long periods without prior arrangement.
How do the desks work?
If you are a full time member, you get your own desk. It will have a black chalkboard that has your name on it and others aren’t allowed to use it (unless you let them).
Desks that are available for use have a green board.
Desks that are partially available have a blue board (if there isn’t someone sitting there, you are just fine to go ahead and use a blue desk but try greens first!)
Do you have disabled access?
Sadly not at the moment. The structure of our building is such that we are not yet able install an external lift or or other access options. This is very important to us and we are continuing to investigate options and hope to be able to offer a solution soon. If you have any questions or would like to discuss this with us, please get in touch at info@thinqtanq.co.uk we would be happy to share with you the options we have investigated or if you have suggestions for things we haven’t yet considered we would love to hear them.
Why do you offer a whole week for free?
A day simply isn’t long enough to work out if you like and fit into a place. We want people to feel part of the family and not obligated to stay and so offering a free week is a great way to show people about the ebb and flow of users, to get to know the facilities and to explore the local area. About 75% of people who have a free week end up being a regular user of THINQTANQ compared to 35% for those who had a free day.
What about Christmas Opening times?
We have had the same Christmas opening times since we opened so you can rely on us 🙂
We typically close on the 21st December (usually with a Christmas party) and we reopen around the 4th January. During this time the building is closed to casual users but is open to full time desk members who have 24/7 access.
Do you allow dogs?
Yes we do. As long as your dog is well behaved and good with people then we love having dogs around!
I paid for a years membership but I'm 10 months in and I need to move, can I have a refund?
Boo, we hate to see you go but unfortunately, when you pay for a year of membership we make certain plans and purchasing decisions on the basis of that income. If you were leaving after your first 4 days due to it not being a good fit for your business needs, well, that’s a different story. Under these circumstances we wouldn’t be able to offer a refund. Sorry.
Why aren't you on X (Formerly Twitter)?
Simply put, we just don’t think X (Formerly Twitter) is a healthy place. It’s not for us.
Can I bring in a fan heater/other time that guzzles power?
Of course! You can bring in a fan heater or even a sunbed if you wish! However, (you knew there was a caveat didn’t you?) things like that don’t fit under our fair use policy. So if you have an appliance like a heater that you want to use, that is absolutely fine, but we just need to attach a meter to it to measure the energy use and we will add that to your bill at the end of the month. Energy is billed at the same market rate we would expect to pay, although we do encourage everyone to minimise their energy use in line with our environmental goals. Jumper use is free under our terms and conditions (wink wink).
Can I Vape?
As with smoking, vaping is also not allowed in THINQTANQ, much as we like to remember the good old days spent at the sweet shop, and we highly discourage ‘growing up’ we reckon filling the co-working space with watermelon and strawberry clouds is a bit far, so if you can kindly pop out into ‘the square’ to puff that would be great.
