FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is a registered office the same as a virtual office?
No. A registered office is the official, public address of your company where legal documents are delivered. We provide a real, physical building - not a PO box. Your mail comes here, we look after it and forward it to you. We can't greet your customers or answer their questions for you. For that sort of service you would need to look elsewhere, I'm afraid.
Can I use my home address instead?
Absolutely you can, but it puts your home address on the public register. A professional address keeps your personal details private.
Do I need to be a member?
No. Non-residents can use the service without a desk. Full-time members get the service for free; part-time members can add it for just £8/month.
What happens to my mail?
Every item is logged on arrival. You can collect it at the desk (free for members) or have it forwarded on a Mail Lite or Mail Plus plan if you aren't based here.
What if I leave?
You have 4 weeks to update your registered address. We hold and forward your post during that window, then return it to sender. If your company stays listed past 4 weeks, the service restarts with a £25 re-registration fee (see our Terms and Conditions).
How is forwarded post counted?
We count each item of post we send out as one item. A large letter counts as one item, and anything that fits with it counts as part of that same item up to the allowance of the stamp. Four normal letters that fit within the weight of a single stamp count as one item; if a fourth takes it over the weight, it becomes two items. We always try to keep your postage down (it's in our interest too not to mention, better for the planet.
What is a registered office? The official address of your company, held on the public register. This is where official company correspondence is sent. This is mail for your company.
What is an additional company? Are you a director of more than one company? You can add each one at a discounted rate.
What is a directors service address? Directors must also give an address on the public record. A service address lets you use ours instead of your home address, so your personal details stay off Companies House. This is mail for you.
What do you mean by mail forwarding? We receive your post and send it on to wherever you are, so you can run your company without being tied to a postcode and your address stays off the public record.
What do you mean by collect at desk? Only available to full time and part time members, you can collect your mail at your desk whenever you come in, free of charge.
