THINQTANQ – What is it Like?

by | Dec 16, 2022

The thought of joining an office space since the pandemic can be daunting. Going back to a space which many haven’t used in a long time. Or even a place that you never used to. Office spaces contain a lot of people and it can be scary, to feel as though you don’t know everyone. Co-working spaces are no different. Placing yourself at a desk where there are people you don’t know from companies which may not be similar to your own.

But at THINQTANQ this isn’t the case. Coming into the space it has a unique and different environment to your traditional office space. The lack of hospital-like colouring you find in most spaces. There is a unique lack of white and grey and instead, you are welcomed with greenery and wood textures. A simple change creates such a welcome and calming environment.

As well as having a unique and different look the business and people who work within the space make you feel welcome. Particularly during my time here as an intern I have had many people from many businesses come and ask questions about what it is I am doing or make comments about slight changes we have made to the space. Even just a good morning in the kitchen area whilst making tea. This all makes you feel welcomed by people you might not even know the name of the business they have or are from. But you feel as though you know them.

Though it is not only the businesses and desk users making you feel welcome. From day one Rob has been welcoming and I have seen him have conversations about general things with everyone and give them advice on businesses when they want it. Which I find to be helpful and welcoming especially as he is someone who is still learning himself about business.

I also have found that having so much greenery and having an indirect impact on the environment just by having a desk here gives a sense of achievement. A feeling that you are having an impact on the world with such a little thing as planting 10 or 20 trees (depending on the type of desk you have) can have a huge change. Let alone the sense of satisfaction that will be given when the solar panels and lighting have changed.

I really have no other way to describe the feel and how I have felt during my time at THINQTANQ. I have felt welcomed by all and it feels welcoming to an environment I want to do work in rather than a place I don’t want to come to. Being surrounded by people who are welcoming and happy to talk to you whilst you make lunch or whilst you’re making tea helps you feel relaxed in the workspace. It is for sure a place I would recommend to anyone for the environment alone!
